The Wind

Waiting for the Wind

Sounds of faint music
Can be heard in the distance,
Like spring coming early,
Showering warmth in the cold air,
Though the night has not ended,
Nor are the morning rays near.

The winds have softly spoken,
Like vines entwined in an embrace,
Never wanting to let go of the warmth
Brought upon by the feeling of emptiness
Nearing as time flies by,
The moment to embark has come.

A solitary fragrance lingers on,
Like a tribute to this momentary feeling,
Declaring its will to wait,
Until the day the wind blows again
Bringing with it the affection
Felt in a single evanescent moment.

  1. Wind can inspire indeed! The last verse I like the most! Keep this evanescent moment you shared with the breeze …

  2. i jus came across ur poem, and as i read it, i came to the words letting go…how the wind can chase those blue moments away, i am struggling with an ex lover, by letting go of the memories, and ur poem just pulled me in, every word.

  3. Oh woww.. loved that stanza like crazy!! So hopeful and positive, despite the dark airs that surround!! Really inspiring and beautiful to read, deadpoet…
As long as we wish for light to shine, it will keep making appearances (just for us)… the key is to hold on to that light.. cling on it like a leaf clings to a gentle flowing breeze… the breeze guides the leaf just like the light guides us…

    Well written, my friend…
    Verse on…

  5. dear DP,

there is a pastoral quality on this poem. exquisitely written by the pure simplicity of nature’s beauty. a solitude uncomparable. a moment of peace. you had the ability to write different themes and different subjects, and this one sets apart from your usual dark, deep and existentialist poetry. it is light and breezy. meditative. very good indeed!
